AN APOLOGY OUT OF LOVE

I am sorry,
That you had to suffer.
You had no part in any of this,
Yet still you endured bitter.
I wouldn't dare to imagine how you felt,
When you received a cold shoulder;
Even from me, I suspect.

I am sorry,
That you were mistreated.
You are better than any of us; or atleast me,
And still you were the one who was cheated.

I am sorry,
That you got worst from me.
You didn't deserve it,
Alas! When I realised this, it
Was too late for me.

I don't blame the people for whom I stood,
It was me; the fool
Who got overwhelmed.
I curse myself for the actions I took,
That justify the punishment to which
I am condemned.

I don't care if I am late for this,
But it's an opportunity I don't wanna miss.
Love is a very funny thing,
In very unexpected ways you grow this feeling.
I offer you my heart,
Already broken and torn apart.
You have the potential to heal it with your effluence,
Radiating love and kindness, your presence.

I am sorry,
I couldn't tell you before that I love you.
I was doubting myself,
And I feared of loosing you.

But today I have nothing to fear;
Nothing to lose.
I don't expect you to feel the same dear,
And I am not forcing you to choose.

I promise to be a better person,
A man capable of protecting you from harm.
I will improve myself to a mature version,
To deserve you; a gentle soul with a charm.
